Supervisor of School Counseling Services for Grades 6–12
Melissa Franzosi serves as the Supervisor of School Counseling Services for Grades 6–12 in the Lacey Township School District, bringing nearly 20 years of experience as a dedicated school counselor, coach, and educational leader. She is passionate about building comprehensive, student-centered counseling programs that support academic achievement, personal wellness, and post-secondary success.
Melissa began her career in Perry Township Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she worked as a high school counselor and varsity softball coach. She continued both roles in Cherry Hill Public Schools in New Jersey, providing individualized academic, social-emotional, and college/career guidance, while also coaching varsity softball for several years.
Before joining Lacey Township, Melissa served as the Director of Student Personnel Services in the Buena Regional School District, where she led districtwide counseling programs across five schools. Her leadership included college and career readiness, testing coordination, crisis response, and mental health services. She also served as the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator and successfully secured competitive grants to enhance school climate and student wellness.
A proud 2024 Fulbright Scholar, Melissa studied Spanish language and literacy in Oaxaca, Mexico, enriching her cultural competence and expanding her ability to support multilingual learners and their families, an experience that continues to inform her approach to school counseling leadership.
Melissa holds a Master of Science in School Counseling from Butler University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Leadership with a concentration in Counselor Education at Rowan University. She is certified as a Director of School Counseling, Supervisor, Mental Wellness Specialist, and Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer.
At Lacey Township, Melissa works collaboratively with administration, counselors, staff, families, and community partners to ensure all students receive the comprehensive support they need to grow, succeed, and thrive academically, emotionally, and beyond.
